Our business

Good Health was founded in 1987, by John Blanchard.

John was previously General Manager of Yates, a prominent New Zealand agricultural company, where he managed growing herbal and oil seed crops. John spent over 25 years with Yates developing a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

During this time John developed a passion for natural health, and a desire to start his own natural health supplement manufacturing company. In 1987 John started Good Health Products, and began manufacturing, distributing and marketing his first natural supplement EPO®, made from New Zealand Evening Primrose plants grown on the canterbury plains.

Initially the company operated from Johns' home in Auckland's Mairangi Bay. It was a real family affair, with everyone in the family being involved in the production. As the business grew, it necessitated a move to manufacturing premises in Mairangi Bay.

With John's passing in early 2003, his sons Dave and Brian became Directors.

In January 2005 the business moved into a purpose built manufacturing facility in the Upper Harbour Industrial Estate on Auckland’s North Shore. The complex includes offices, a sophisticated manufacturing plant and a warehouse and distribution centre.

Today, Good Health continues to focus on developing from a local company into a global business, while still maintaining the friendly and personal environment that was so central to John's original philosophy.
